COMPETITOR

Kurella's Kitchen

HEAD COOK: Laura Kurella

COMPETITION: World Noodle Championship

Laura is a multi-award-winning home cook, journalist, author, food columnist, and former Culinary Contributor to The Food Channel. Immersing herself in the world of recipe development after the sudden, tragic loss of her father, Kurella discovered that doing so enabled her to shift her pain of his loss into a purpose that evolved into what has become her personal mission. “Recipe development motivated me to raise awareness of the amazing positive impact that home-cooking can make on how we look and feel. When we afford ourselves the time to indulge in the pleasures of a home-cooked meal we pamper our bodies with more pleasure, flavor, nutrition, and oodles of other great body benefits as well!" Thrilled to be returning to WFC for a third time on a GOLDEN TICKET* (2023-SOUP, 2015-SEAFOOD) Laura is new to the NOODLE category and her all-sister crew, aka Kurella's Kitchen, will wear red to honor their family’s Slovak Polish-Austrian heritage. “Plus, it was Dad’s favorite color!” With this year’s “three” possibly being a charm, this unique (senior-aged) all-sister team is hoping to be blessed with a win! *= Laura also won GOLDEN TICKETS in the years 2021 and 2022. However, she was unable to compete at WFC those years due to recent illnesses and deaths in her family and the need to prioritize commitments.
